The Split and Then the Glue

    On January second two-thousand and twelve here is what I woke up to. “Hey bud, I have something to tell you” says my dad. “What” I said (half asleep). “I am moving out and I want you to know that it is not because of you or your siblings.”

    I woke up, grabbed a pillow off of my brown couch, and went outside saw the dark blue sky and screamed my head off, because that had never happened to me before. After that meltdown I went back inside and my mom said to my dad “did you tell him what happened?” “No I did not give the whole story” my father said. Then my mom said “you should tell him because he has a right to know". Dad told me that he was cheating on my mom and that he was going to move in with her, and after I heard that it felt like my eyes were carrying weights because I was about to cry. After all of that chaos my sister who had gone through the same thing told me that it is going to be ok and that it was going to get better.
    After my dad had left I asked my mom what we are going to do next. She said that we are going to have to move because she had two failed marriages in this house and that there was nothing tying her to this house anymore. "Where are we going to move to?" I asked. "Probably up in Boone, NC or in Columbia, South Carolina with my brother" said my mom.
    On the third of January I was so upset at what had happened that I had to stay home from school and just cry it all out. I had thought that it all was just a bad dream but I knew it was not because that day I saw that my dad was gone and all of his stuff was out of the house.
    Then on January fourth, came along and I went to school. People all day were making fun at me and making me mad and then I told them what I was going through and they helped me through the day. After I had gotten off of the bus I talked to my neighbor Eddie who had also gone through the same terrible situation a few years back. He told me that it will hurt for a while and that I will be mad at my dad but some day I will have to forgive him.
    Then as I was doing my homework my mom had woken up from her nap and asked my sister if she had told me the news. "No" I said very confused. Then my mom told me the best six words I had heard all week, mommy and daddy worked it out. After I had heard that I dragged a smile just so I could savor the moment. I asked three questions which were "how did you work it out?" "The next question was why did things change?" My final question was "this is not a joke right?" "No" my mom said because that would be a cruel trick to play on somebody. "Yeah that would" said my sister. Ok I thought I still get to see my dad often and I won't have to move.

my perfect World

In my perfect world there would be no fighting and the people would all be nice. There would be no car wrecks because everyone would be a safe driver and no one would have to be separated from their families. All the Star Wars characters would be roaming the city just like normal people. I could have all the video games in the world. In my utopia we would not have to worry about owing money to other states because no one would run out of money. No one would have to steal things or be greedy because everyone would be so nice that it would be hard to be bad.

Tell Tale Heart project

This is Phil

   My name is George and I am the owner of this really spooky house in this even spookier neighborhood. I have one other person in this house and it is my butler Phil he is kind of tall has a handle bar mustache and seems to hate this house. "Ok I had a good day Phil now I will lay down for the night." For seven nights I have felt someone watching me but yet I have not seen anyone.

   I try to sleep in a pitch black room so that way no robbers would come here. (creek of the hinges) Who's there I said as I heard something creek in my own room. If there is a person watching me they may want my eye because so many people that I have met say that it is a vulture eye. I stay up for an hour hoping that my intruder would show themselves but they never did. I was really scared and I let out a moan of sheer terror because I did not know when he/she would strike. My fears that I have had all tonight have been because of that slight little noise.

   I thought it was a cricket that had made the noise or a mouse going across the floor because only one other person lives in the house with me and I know he would not kill me. Then suddenly a light little ray hit my left eye, the "vulture eye". The thing that confused me is that the light was no where else on my face so where was the light coming from? Then my heart started racing with all of the thing that went through my mind, could I die soon, will I live, or will I forever live in fear?

   I then heard a loud AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH and that caused me to scream at the top of my lungs and then I saw my pursuer and it was... Phil the person that lives with me. He through the bed over me and i kicked, screamed, and punched but I could not get free and then I died.

   At the end after the deed was done the bell rang and it was the police. They had said that a neighbor had heard some screaming and was scared that it had been George that wailed.

   Phil being an excellent liar said that George had been away. He let the police search the house and they found nothing. Phil then all of a sudden heard a small beating noise in his head and thought that it was nothing. Then the noise got louder and he knew that they heard it to and then when they did not say anything he just confessed to doing the deed and turned himself in.

Hunger Games and Battle strategies

The Hunger Games project Avery 12/6/11
     The Hunger Games is this series of tests where everyone has to survive in the wild and face one another. In the games there are twelve districts which each contribute two kids ages twelve-eighteen to fight. During the games people make an alliance to try and live which almost never works out because they either kill each other or they get killed. One alliance is Katniss and Rue, Katniss is a good hunter, also the main character, and is from district twelve. Rue is a little girl that is from district eleven and the smallest kid in the games. In the games the two tributes from district twelve have a little "love story" in the games. At the   end of the games the tributes that won were Peeta and Katniss. ("The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins")

     Some good advantages while using a bow and arrow are the cheapness of how much it costs. ("Medieval Bow and Arrow"). The reason why is because it is hard to get thing where Katniss lives so it is good to have cheap things. Some great hunting tactics are go up as high in a tree as you can then go a little higher. ("Deer Hunting Strategies and Tactics"). Some other good tactics are using camouflage. The cool thing about it is if you can get enough good cover in it you can pretty much be invisible even to the most trained eye. ("Battle Strategies and Tactics"). Amazing sniper tricks that I found are like do not create a base camp because you need to pop up out of no where. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper"). Some other great tactics that I found are, to lie like a stone and merely observe aim to be invisible even to the trained eye. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper.") My last tactic is to work closely to other people because they can be good decoys and provide intelligence about the enemy. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper.")

Katniss

     Some ways that I see that they are connected are that working with others as a decoy reminds me of when Rue was distracting the careers, that was like her being a decoy and helping Katniss destroy the food. Another similarity that I have is when Katniss found Peeta in the woods she could not see him because he was very well covered in camouflage. A good thing that I found that the Hunger Games and battle strategies have in common is that when you are hunting in a tree you go up as high as you can then go a little higher, this is like the time Katniss and Rue hid in trees from the careers. My last connection that I am going to make is that you don't create a base camp because you need to pop up from no where in the Hunger Games, which is like when Katniss and Rue kept moving and hiding in the woods and popped up and killed the enemies.

Chapter 22 Hunger Games

The thing that really shocked me was that Katniss and Peeta had their first real kiss and neither of them were sick or anything. I was also happy that after that big scene where they had that conversation they got a huge buffet so that they would not starve. One thing that I am wondering is that are Katniss and Peeta doing this to get sponsors or is it something more? If anyone has any input on that leave a comment on this blog.
