Hunger Games and Battle strategies

     The Hunger Games is this series of tests where everyone has to survive in the wild and face one another. In the games there are twelve districts which each contribute two kids ages twelve-eighteen to fight. During the games people make an alliance to try and live which almost never works out because they either kill each other or they get killed. One alliance is Katniss and Rue, Katniss is a good hunter, also the main character, and is from district twelve. Rue is a little girl that is from district eleven and the smallest kid in the games. In the games the two tributes from district twelve have a little "love story" in the games. At the   end of the games the tributes that won were Peeta and Katniss.      Some good advantages while using a bow and arrow are the cheapness of how much it costs. ("Medieval Bow and Arrow"). The reason why is because it is hard to get thing where Katniss lives so it is good to have cheap things. Some great hunting tactics are go up as high in a tree as you can then go a little higher. ("Deer Hunting Strategies and Tactics"). Some other good tactics are using camouflage. The cool thing about it is if you can get enough good cover in it you can pretty much be invisible even to the most trained eye. ("Battle Strategies and Tactics"). Amazing sniper tricks that I found are like do not create a base camp because you need to pop up out of no where. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper"). Some other great tactics that I found are, to lie like a stone and merely observe aim to be invisible even to the trained eye. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper.") My last tactic is to work closely to other people because they can be good decoys and provide intelligence about the enemy. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper.")

Katniss

     Some ways that I see that they are connected are that working with others as a decoy reminds me of when Rue was distracting the careers, that was like her being a decoy and helping Katniss destroy the food. Another similarity that I have is when Katniss found Peeta in the woods she could not see him because he was very well covered in camouflage. A good thing that I found that the Hunger Games and battle strategies have in common is that when you are hunting in a tree you go up as high as you can then go a little higher, this is like the time Katniss and Rue hid in trees from the careers. My last connection that I am going to make is that you don't create a base camp because you need to pop up from no where in the Hunger Games, which is like when Katniss and Rue kept moving and hiding in the woods and popped up and killed the enemies.

Chapter 22 Hunger Games

The thing that really shocked me was that Katniss and Peeta had their first real kiss and neither of them were sick or anything. I was also happy that after that big scene where they had that conversation they got a huge buffet so that they would not starve. One thing that I am wondering is that are Katniss and Peeta doing this to get sponsors or is it something more? If anyone has any input on that leave a comment on this blog.

Hunger Games blog out

One thing that made me happy in this book is that Katniss and the little girl Rue are allies. I thought that it gave them a better chance to win the games. During their alliance Katniss and Rue were planning to destroy the careers food supply which I think is a good idea. For me if I was Katniss I would have sent a flaming arrow at the food but then she said what of the arrow burns itself out and that shot down that idea. The last thing that has surprised me this week is that some boy form the careers put a spear through Rue and it killed her that is something that made me very sad.

Hunger Games

In the Hunger Games Katniss was in the woods and came up to Peeta and heard some of his allies that they were trying to hunt her down and kill her. I can't believe what he is doing but I do think that he is planning to double cross them. The game makers sent a wall of fire to snuff out the tributes and get them to meet so the action could resume. In my opinion I think it was cool to get the action going again but I don't think it is cool because some people could have gotten killed. Katniss also hid in a tree while the careers were under her, but she had a plan to drop a Tracker Jacker/ bee nest on them so she could escape. I thought that they were going to get her with that arrow but lucky for her that the person with the arrows is a bad shot. If I have lost any of you on this about what I have talked about in the book let me know.

Strategies

I think the best strategy for the Hunger Games depends on the field that you are on. If you have a lot of trees you might want to get a good vantage point and cover yourself. If you are in the desert you would want to find water to stay alive. Your strategy also can depend on the weapons you are given like a good weapon in the trees would be a bow and arrow. For the desert a knife might be good so you could cut open a cactus and get water. The last thing that a good strategy can consist of is knowing your enemy. If you are facing someone that is a good hunter you might not want to go in the woods without understanding where a good hiding spot is.
