Virtual space

   "Whoa where am I?" I thought as I was in a random space not knowing where I am. (Boom). "What was that?" I asked. Then I thought back to the first thing I remembered when everything made sense. I was at home telling my family about my day today, told them I had a new job offering, and then I remember nothing from that.

 
   "Get down man, do you want your head blown off?"

   (thud) "Who are you?" I asked the foggy figure.

   "I am Brittney Johnson and I am an elf from this land. Now that we have cleared that up who, or what are you?"

   "I am Ryan Williams and I am a human from Earth."

   "It is a pleasure to meet you Ryan Williams,"she said. "Just as I hope you have suspected we are in a video game with almost no way out of here unless you can beat the boss and get to where you are at level 99 which has never been done."

   "That does not seem hard," I said confidently.

   "Oh yeah I forgot two things."

   "What is that?" Then she said two things that made this game nearly impossible, the boss Sauron is at level 150 and that you have to reach level 99 in only 10 lives, oh joy to the world.

   "I have an idea," I said, "how about if we team up and face him together and both reach lvl. 99 together, how does that sound?"

   "Like a great idea," I said.

 
   Then I started surveying the plain and then saw three goblins that were at lvl. 5 while I was at lvl.1, does this sound as bad of an idea to you as it does to me? "What do I do?" I asked Brittney.

   "You're a warrior so you have like a sword or a dagger or something."

   "Hello lovelies," I said to the goblins as they were charging at me like wild beasts. (Shing) I pulled out the sword from its scabbard and sliced the three enemies in half. (Beep, beep, beep) The game said showing as I had leveled up three times to lvl. 4. "Whoa! What just happened?" I said as I suddenly felt stronger, faster, and more aware of what happened.

   "Do you know what just happened Ryan?" Brittney asked.

   "No what is that?" I said confused not understanding why she was so excited.

   "You just leveled up after your first battle not many do that most normally get wasted on there first battle, say let me see that sword you have there." I was confused at first but then handed her the sword and she just looked at it. "Ryan," Brittney said like she was astonished.

   "Yes what is it?"

   "This sword is made of the finest steel in Lothlorian which has the finest sword makers in all the realm."

   After traveling around in this strange virtual planet I was at lvl.25 and Brittney was at lvl.29 due to her vanquishing a lvl.35 mountain troll with her special magic. Now her and I are traveling through Eastern Moria where we met a ranger named Elegost and a dwarf named Hadhod which are both at lvl.23. Moria is the home to the dwarf and he has just found out that his whole clan except for one other named Gimli were vanquished. In Moria there is this huge creature made of fire that will block us from exiting. Luckily we have had a wizard named Gandalf, ranger named Aragorn, and elf named Legolas, and a few hobbits leading us and by the time we get there we will meet with them and the creature.

 
   "There the gray wizard is in trouble," Brittney said as she saw the wizard about to fight the Balrog of Morgoth.  We traveled down the stairs that were about to cave in on themselves, then suddenly.(Boom, boom)

   "Look a drummer troll and a cave troll which are servants of the evil Sauron block our path," Elegost said.  After that battle I was at lvl. 30, Brittney was at lvl.30, Elegost was at lvl.28, and Hadhod was at lvl.28. Then we went to face the Balrog and he was so skilled at battle, he had defeated everyone in my group except Gandalf who was helping us. At the end we all heard Gandalf say

   "You shall not pass" as he broke the bridge killing the Balrog. (Whip) The Balrog snapped his whip grabbed Gandalf and then dragged him down where he ended up killing it for good.

Anakin the Sports Star

    Anakin Organa has had a great 4 years at the University of Connecticut. He is the starting first baseman for the Huskies and has hit 35 homeruns this year. He is also this huge basketball star and plays shooting guard for them and has lead both teams to the finals.
    Anakin is also very good at school, he has a 3.8 GPA and is the school’s valedictorian. He does so well in school to where he was the tutor of this girl named Juno. They ended up going out and both are about to graduate. Anakin just has one problem, he has to choose between playing basketball or playing baseball. Both sides have great reasons for him to join. With basketball he will most likely be chosen by the Miami Heat who have the first pick in the draft, also that is where Juno has gotten offered a job to be a teacher. With baseball though he would get paid a lot more money by the Boston Red Sox who have the first pick in the draft also. What is the poor sports star to do?
    He goes and talks to Juno and tells her the situation. She was mad at first because to her it wouldn’t have even been an option, but then after thirty minutes of arguing she saw why it was a choice. Anakin then said “ you are the most sensible person I know and I also believe that you will make the right decision.” “Well no matter how much I want to go to Miami I think it would be better for both of us if we go up to Massachusetts so that way we can be together and you can live your dream of being the best baseball player ever" Juno said. “Ok I will go get ready to go graduate tomorrow and then we can move up to Boston.
     It is the day of the MLB draft and they are getting ready to announce the first pick. “The first pick in the 2012 MLB draft chosen by the Boston Red Sox is... Luke Johnson 3rd baseman of the University of Connecticut  Huskies” said the announcer. “What my roommate, best friend, and teammate got picked before Me what is this?” I asked. "The second pick pf the 2012 draft picked by the New York Yankees is... Anakin Organa.” “Yes I said in my mind now I get to face my new rival.” But then I realized a terrible thing, Juno is going to Boston and I am going to New York, oh this is a disaster.
     “Juno I have bad news” I said. “What is it?” Juno said now looking  very sad. “I got picked by the Yankees and I have to go to New York.” “So I guess this is goodbye then” Juno said now bawling her eyes out. “I guess it is. Goodbye my love.” I said exiting the room.

The Split and Then the Glue

    On January second two-thousand and twelve here is what I woke up to. “Hey bud, I have something to tell you” says my dad. “What” I said (half asleep). “I am moving out and I want you to know that it is not because of you or your siblings.”

    I woke up, grabbed a pillow off of my brown couch, and went outside saw the dark blue sky and screamed my head off, because that had never happened to me before. After that meltdown I went back inside and my mom said to my dad “did you tell him what happened?” “No I did not give the whole story” my father said. Then my mom said “you should tell him because he has a right to know". Dad told me that he was cheating on my mom and that he was going to move in with her, and after I heard that it felt like my eyes were carrying weights because I was about to cry. After all of that chaos my sister who had gone through the same thing told me that it is going to be ok and that it was going to get better.
    After my dad had left I asked my mom what we are going to do next. She said that we are going to have to move because she had two failed marriages in this house and that there was nothing tying her to this house anymore. "Where are we going to move to?" I asked. "Probably up in Boone, NC or in Columbia, South Carolina with my brother" said my mom.
    On the third of January I was so upset at what had happened that I had to stay home from school and just cry it all out. I had thought that it all was just a bad dream but I knew it was not because that day I saw that my dad was gone and all of his stuff was out of the house.
    Then on January fourth, came along and I went to school. People all day were making fun at me and making me mad and then I told them what I was going through and they helped me through the day. After I had gotten off of the bus I talked to my neighbor Eddie who had also gone through the same terrible situation a few years back. He told me that it will hurt for a while and that I will be mad at my dad but some day I will have to forgive him.
    Then as I was doing my homework my mom had woken up from her nap and asked my sister if she had told me the news. "No" I said very confused. Then my mom told me the best six words I had heard all week, mommy and daddy worked it out. After I had heard that I dragged a smile just so I could savor the moment. I asked three questions which were "how did you work it out?" "The next question was why did things change?" My final question was "this is not a joke right?" "No" my mom said because that would be a cruel trick to play on somebody. "Yeah that would" said my sister. Ok I thought I still get to see my dad often and I won't have to move.

my perfect World

In my perfect world there would be no fighting and the people would all be nice. There would be no car wrecks because everyone would be a safe driver and no one would have to be separated from their families. All the Star Wars characters would be roaming the city just like normal people. I could have all the video games in the world. In my utopia we would not have to worry about owing money to other states because no one would run out of money. No one would have to steal things or be greedy because everyone would be so nice that it would be hard to be bad.

Tell Tale Heart project

This is Phil

   My name is George and I am the owner of this really spooky house in this even spookier neighborhood. I have one other person in this house and it is my butler Phil he is kind of tall has a handle bar mustache and seems to hate this house. "Ok I had a good day Phil now I will lay down for the night." For seven nights I have felt someone watching me but yet I have not seen anyone.

   I try to sleep in a pitch black room so that way no robbers would come here. (creek of the hinges) Who's there I said as I heard something creek in my own room. If there is a person watching me they may want my eye because so many people that I have met say that it is a vulture eye. I stay up for an hour hoping that my intruder would show themselves but they never did. I was really scared and I let out a moan of sheer terror because I did not know when he/she would strike. My fears that I have had all tonight have been because of that slight little noise.

   I thought it was a cricket that had made the noise or a mouse going across the floor because only one other person lives in the house with me and I know he would not kill me. Then suddenly a light little ray hit my left eye, the "vulture eye". The thing that confused me is that the light was no where else on my face so where was the light coming from? Then my heart started racing with all of the thing that went through my mind, could I die soon, will I live, or will I forever live in fear?

   I then heard a loud AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH and that caused me to scream at the top of my lungs and then I saw my pursuer and it was... Phil the person that lives with me. He through the bed over me and i kicked, screamed, and punched but I could not get free and then I died.

This is the house

   At the end after the deed was done the bell rang and it was the police. They had said that a neighbor had heard some screaming and was scared that it had been George that wailed.

   Phil being an excellent liar said that George had been away. He let the police search the house and they found nothing. Phil then all of a sudden heard a small beating noise in his head and thought that it was nothing. Then the noise got louder and he knew that they heard it to and then when they did not say anything he just confessed to doing the deed and turned himself in.

Hunger Games and Battle strategies

The Hunger Games project Avery 12/6/11
     The Hunger Games is this series of tests where everyone has to survive in the wild and face one another. In the games there are twelve districts which each contribute two kids ages twelve-eighteen to fight. During the games people make an alliance to try and live which almost never works out because they either kill each other or they get killed. One alliance is Katniss and Rue, Katniss is a good hunter, also the main character, and is from district twelve. Rue is a little girl that is from district eleven and the smallest kid in the games. In the games the two tributes from district twelve have a little "love story" in the games. At the   end of the games the tributes that won were Peeta and Katniss. ("The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins")

     Some good advantages while using a bow and arrow are the cheapness of how much it costs. ("Medieval Bow and Arrow"). The reason why is because it is hard to get thing where Katniss lives so it is good to have cheap things. Some great hunting tactics are go up as high in a tree as you can then go a little higher. ("Deer Hunting Strategies and Tactics"). Some other good tactics are using camouflage. The cool thing about it is if you can get enough good cover in it you can pretty much be invisible even to the most trained eye. ("Battle Strategies and Tactics"). Amazing sniper tricks that I found are like do not create a base camp because you need to pop up out of no where. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper"). Some other great tactics that I found are, to lie like a stone and merely observe aim to be invisible even to the trained eye. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper.") My last tactic is to work closely to other people because they can be good decoys and provide intelligence about the enemy. ("10 Sniper Tactics from the Red Sniper.")

Katniss

     Some ways that I see that they are connected are that working with others as a decoy reminds me of when Rue was distracting the careers, that was like her being a decoy and helping Katniss destroy the food. Another similarity that I have is when Katniss found Peeta in the woods she could not see him because he was very well covered in camouflage. A good thing that I found that the Hunger Games and battle strategies have in common is that when you are hunting in a tree you go up as high as you can then go a little higher, this is like the time Katniss and Rue hid in trees from the careers. My last connection that I am going to make is that you don't create a base camp because you need to pop up from no where in the Hunger Games, which is like when Katniss and Rue kept moving and hiding in the woods and popped up and killed the enemies.
